He has a doctorate in Jurisprudence and a degree of Lawyer. In his professional trajectory, he has added to his scholarship by obtaining post-graduate degrees in the management and advising of Family Businesses, Business Administration for Lawyers, International Law, Foreign Trade and International Relations, High-Level Management and Marketing, Conflict Negotiation, Tax Law, and Disciplinary Sports Law.

He contributes to the firm through his experience, providing empathetic teaching on how to provide services to clients in complex areas such as public procurement, in the structuring and fiduciary contractual advice, management and resolution of public and private conflicts, organization of the family business system, always maintaining ethics and balance as fundamental principles of the Santillán Abogados’s professional practice.

He has been a university professor for many years in several of the country’s most prestigious universities. Other activities include being an Arbitrator of the Arbitration Courts of the Arbitration and Mediation Centers of the Chamber of Commerce of Quito, of the Chamber of the Construction Industry, and the International Center for Arbitration and Mediation – CIAM – of the British Ecuadorian Chamber, and member of the Disciplinary Commissions of the LigaPro of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce. This professional experience has led him to practice law with experience, equanimity, and an ongoing orientation toward positive results. 

One of his most notable challenges and achievements came over 20 years ago, when he founded the INLAW Alliance of Law Firms international network, currently made up of Legal Firms belonging to 15 Latin American countries, and which continues to expand.
